The Community at the centre of what we do

Coceka was incubated in close partnership with local community leaders and members who showed a keen interest in Kayamandi becoming a pioneer for community-based recycling in the Western Cape. Many of those involved are mothers concerned about their children’s future, residents who worry about their health and the cleanliness of their environment, waste collectors who are often undervalued and underpaid and local businesses keen to make a difference in their community.
