How can you help? Be part of Coceka – Recycle Together
Whether you are a community member, local business, PRO, corporate, funder or reprosessor, we would love to hear from you!
Coceka is a community project. We need support from local residents, small businesses, schools, organisations and partners to make it a success.
For the Community: What can you do?
Bring your plastic
You can bring plastic bottles and containers to the Recycling Pod and get paid for what you collect. This helps reduce dumping and keeps streets and rivers clean.
Get involved
We welcome community members who want to:
- Collect plastic in the neighbourhood and bring it to the Pod
- Help with sorting and collection
- Spread the word in Kayamandi regarding recycling and the benefits to the community
- Encourage everyone to recycle
For local businesses and organisations
Local shops, restaurants, schools, and organisations can help by:
- Separating their plastic waste
- Encouraging staff and customers to recycle
- Partnering with Coceka for local recycling solutions
- Drop your plastic off at the Pod for recycling

For Producers, PROs, Funders and Partners
We also welcome support from Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs), manufacturers, retailers, funders, and sustainability partners.
By supporting Coceka, partners can:
- Increase recycling in under-served communities
- Support Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) goals
- Deliver measurable ESG impact
- Build inclusive, community-owned recycling infrastructure
We welcome in-kind support and sponsorships, including the following:
- Pod machinery and equipment
- Waste collection trolleys and bins
- Site consumables
- Collection bins and bags
- Finished product storage containers
- PPE and uniforms
- Digital tools
- Connectivity for data and reporting
- Uptake agreements with plastic reprocessors to collect our plastic flakes and granules to manufacture new products
- Signage and advertising materials
- Community education materials and posters
- Sponsor a waste collection trolley and add your company branding showing your support to the local community and environment
We also need funding to continue to expand and grow Coceka to create jobs and cleaner neighbourhoods elsewhere.
